Public administration and policy

History

The Faculty of Public Administration and Policy was established in 1402. within the framework of Farah University, based on the decision of the Higher Council of the Ministry of Higher Education, in accordance with Resolution No. (8) dated 02/02/1402 A.H., corresponding to 03/11/1444 A.H. (Hijri Lunar), and pursuant to Official Letter and Approval No. (1069) dated 04/11/1444 A.H. issued by the respected Directorate of Academic Program Development of the Ministry of Higher Education. The faculty was founded with two departments: Public Administration and Public Policy.

In the same year, through the National University Entrance Examination (Kankor), the faculty admitted 80 male students across both departments. In the first semester of the academic year 1403 A.H., 60 of the admitted students are actively attending classes and are being instructed by qualified and professional faculty members.

The faculty currently employs three professional academic staff members at the bachelor’s level in the Department of Public Administration and two in the Department of Public Policy, all of whom are actively engaged in teaching and academic research.

In terms of academic affairs, maintaining academic relations with governmental and scholarly institutions, organizing scientific and research seminars and conferences, reviewing and updating the academic curriculum, utilizing recent research findings, and ensuring the availability of textbooks and instructional materials are among the key strengths of the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy. These factors significantly enhance the quality of education and provide a strong foundation for students’ academic development.

Vision

Through its academic and research activities, the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy aims to train professional and specialized cadres capable of contributing to the development of the national administrative system, improvement of public services, and effective policy-making, thereby being recognized as a leading academic faculty and center at the national level.

Mission

The mission of the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy is to educate competent, professional, and committed individuals through qualified academic staff, in accordance with professional and academic ethics, to contribute effectively to the development of the country’s administrative system, policy formulation, and leadership. The faculty seeks to bring about positive change in the administrative system by relying on scientific research, innovative solutions, and modern technology.

  6. Cooperation in obtaining institutional accreditation for Farah University;
  7. Establishment of new departments in accordance with national needs;
  8. Signing memoranda of understanding with relevant institutions;
  9. Construction of a dedicated administrative and instructional building for the faculty;
  10. Expansion of research and study activities based on societal needs.
