An Intellectual–Reform Seminar Titled “The Bonn Conference and the Political Fate of Afghanistan” Was Held for the Academic and Administrative Staff of Farah University

An intellectual–reform seminar titled “The Bonn Conference and the Political Fate of Afghanistan” was organized by the Directorate of Da‘wah and Guidance of Farah University for the purpose of enhancing the political awareness and intellectual insight of the university’s academic and administrative staff.

The seminar started with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Qur’an.

Subsequently, the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Mufti Abdul Zahir Siddiqi, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the historical background of the Bonn Conference, including its time and venue of convening, the organizing parties, the host country, and the role of the United Nations in facilitating and legitimizing the process.

He further elaborated on the participants of the conference and the groups that were excluded from the process, the declared and undeclared objectives, the formation of the post-Bonn Interim Administration, and its political, security, social, and economic consequences.

Moreover, he analyzed the factors contributing to the shortcomings of the process from various perspectives and, from an intellectual and cultural standpoint, highlighted the key lessons and insights to be drawn by university professors, administrative staff, and the country’s younger generation.

The seminar concluded with a blessing Dua.
