Public Administration Department

 

Introduction

The Public Administration Department, part of the Faculty of Public Administration and Policy, commenced its activities after June 6, 2024. Initially, two academic staff members joined the department. Currently, the acting head of the Public Administration Department is (Candidate Assistant Professor Hamidullah Rahimi). The department is dedicated to the education and training of specialized human resources in the field of management and public administration. The goal of this department is to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of public administration, develop leadership and decision-making skills, and strengthen social and ethical commitment in them. By focusing on education, research, and community service, this department strives to cultivate graduates who can effectively play a role in governmental and non-governmental organizations and contribute to improving the country's administrative structures.

 

Mission

1. Training Specialized Personnel: The main objective of the Public Administration Department is to train and educate specialized and professional personnel in the field of management and public administration so that graduates can work effectively and efficiently in governmental and non-governmental organizations.
2. Developing Management Capacities: This department strives to familiarize students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of management and to develop their managerial and leadership capacities.
3. Research and Development: Encouraging scientific research and studies in fields related to public administration is one of the key objectives of the department. This research can be useful in improving management systems and providing effective solutions for public problems.
4. Serving the Community: The Public Administration Department emphasizes the importance of serving the community and strives to ensure that graduates of this department play a role as responsible and informed citizens in their society and contribute to improving the country's administrative structures.
5. Creating Leadership Capacities: The educational programs and practical workshops designed in the department prepare students to take on leadership roles in various organizations and institutions in the future.

This department aims to educate students in a way that they have the ability to analyze public issues, make decisions in complex situations, and manage public resources, ultimately contributing to strengthening the public sector of the country.

Objectives

1. Training and Educating Specialized Human Resources: The main objective of the department is to train students as professional managers and specialists in the field of public administration. Graduates of this field should acquire the necessary scientific and practical skills to assume managerial duties in governmental and private organizations.
2. Enhancing Theoretical and Practical Knowledge: This department strives to familiarize students with the latest theories, principles, and practical methods in the field of management and public administration and enable them to work effectively in different environments.
3. Developing Leadership and Decision-Making Skills: The department teaches students how to strengthen their leadership skills and gain the ability to make decisions in complex and challenging situations. These skills are very important for success in public management and administration.
4. Encouraging Scientific Research: This department encourages students to conduct scientific research and studies in fields related to public administration and policy-making. This research can help identify problems and provide appropriate solutions to improve the country's administrative structures.
5. Serving the Community and Strengthening Social Commitment: One of the department's goals is to cultivate students who are committed to society and public issues. This department strives to train graduates who are ready to serve the community and participate in solving public problems.

7. Creating Appropriate Infrastructure for the Advancement of Government Organizations: This department works towards strengthening government organizations and institutions and aims to train students who have the ability to improve and develop the functions of these organizations.

Cooperation and Scientific Exchange with Domestic and Foreign Institutions: One of the department's goals is to establish and develop scientific relations with domestic and foreign universities and institutions to benefit from the experiences of others and contribute to the scientific and practical advancement of the field of public administration.

These objectives are collectively designed so that students of the Public Administration Department enter the work environment with comprehensive knowledge and skills and are effective in advancing and improving the country's management and administrative systems.
