Vision

The Biology Department aims to become a trusted scientific reference in the field of Biology education and research within the community by providing standard and scientific instruction, conducting effective research, and training committed professionals in line with the goals of the Faculty of Education.

 

Mission

The Biology Department is committed to training competent, creative, and responsible professionals to enhance the quality of education, research, and sustainable development in society. This will be achieved through the use of modern teaching methods, conducting standard scientific research, developing students’ practical skills, and collaborating with scientific and industrial institutions.

 

Values

  1. Full adherence and respect for Islamic and national laws and principles.
  2. Training qualified individuals with the necessary educational competencies so they can teach the subject in schools according to standard requirements.
  3. Sending talented youth abroad to pursue higher education at the Master’s and Doctoral levels.
  4. Hosting one national conference each year.
  5. Sending at least three young faculty members abroad annually to complete doctoral programs.
  6. Increasing the number of young researchers.
  7. Providing opportunities for practical instruction alongside theoretical teaching.

 

Goals

The goals of the Biology Department for the next five years are as follows:

1. Creating a conducive environment for teaching, research, and enriched, high-quality education in various branches of Biology for all students through:

  • Introducing a modern and advanced curriculum;
  • Preparing textbooks and lecture notes, and providing students with access to reliable national and international references;
  • Assigning instructors to guide students in every class;
  • Establishing a rich and accessible library (hard books and soft books) for all Biology students and faculty members.

2. Developing and improving the quality of teaching, research, and education through:

  • Upgrading the academic level of the department’s faculty to Master's and PhD degrees;
  • Familiarizing instructors with the most modern teaching methods;
  • Facilitating the participation of instructors in seminars, workshops, and training courses;
  • Creating opportunities for learning foreign languages;

3.Enabling systematic use of modern technology and educational software.

4. Requesting short-term and long-term scholarships for faculty members to enhance their academic qualifications and knowledge, through the Faculty and University authorities.

5. Attracting and recruiting talented and capable young instructors into the academic staff of the department based on scientific merit, expertise, and ethical standards—not on bias, discrimination, personal interests, or preferences.

6. Requesting the establishment and equipment of Biology laboratories with modern technology.

7. Making efforts to prepare PowerPoint presentations for course delivery.
